7TH CONFERENCE ON MAINTENANCE IN ELECTRIC POWER SECTOR, 18-19 November 2026

18. November, 2026 @ 8:00 - 19. November, 2026 @ 17:00

7TH CONFERENCE ON MAINTENANCE IN ELECTRIC POWER SECTOR

In the energy transition, the objectives, strategies, actions and pitfalls are based on the growing importance of electricity as the backbone of the process. The road to a zero-emission power sector is a long one, fraught with contingencies and complications. It can only be achieved with a great deal of expert and scientific work, innovation, new business models and more. But we must not forget that the system we have is working very well and that, despite the expected transformation, we need to keep it in balance and in the best possible “shape” at all times.

Therefore, one of the key activities in the energy sector, and in particular in the electricity sector, is the quality, technologically advanced and cost-effective maintenance of power systems, equipment and installations. Our biennial maintenance conferences are dedicated to this important area, which is always somewhere on the periphery of the professional agenda in the electricity sector. This is the seventh in a row, which means that it has become a tradition, and this is all the more important as similar conferences are not often found either here or in our wider region. We therefore decided that the conference should address and attract experts from the wider international community working in the field of maintenance. Maintenance is based on a professional approach to systematic observation, event statistics, the gradual introduction of new technological methods and, above all, the exchange of experience. This is why the biennial conference organised by CIGRE – CIRED focuses on presenting practical and validated methods of work which, by transferring knowledge to others, can become a guide for successful maintenance strategies and policies.

You are cordially invited to the 7th Conference on Maintenance in the Electric Power sector, where the latest national and international trends and practices in the maintenance of power installations, facilities and equipment will be presented. Experts from the electricity sector will present established practices and innovations related to maintenance in the transmission, distribution and generation of electricity in expert papers and invited lectures. The conference will take place from 18 to 19 November 2026 at the Habakuk Hotel in Maribor.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS/PAPERS

This year’s 7th Conference on Maintenaince brings a special innovation that opens the door to an even wider range of experts and researchers. Authors will be able to submit their papers in their native language as well as in English, allowing for a more authentic, rich and accessible way of presenting the content. All contributions will then be automatically translated into English using state-of-the-art translation technologies, ensuring international readability and knowledge sharing at the highest level. This step is intended to encourage greater participation, facilitate the preparation of contributions and at the same time raise the quality of the expert debate. The presentation of the paper must be in English!

Want to present your professional work? Abstract submissions are open! Important deadlines:

Submission of abstracts                  14 .12. 2025
Reviews of abstracts and notification of their acceptance/rejection                  31. 1. 2026
Submission of papers                  11. 3. 2026
Reviews of papers and notification of their acceptance/rejection                  11. 5. 2026

Depending on the area of expertise you will be working on, you will need to submit your paper to a specific Study Committee. Each Study Committee has set priority topics for the conference, which can be found below. You can submit your abstracts and papers to the new ConfTool conference portal, which can be accessed at the link below.
